Principal Engineer

Job Summary
Lead civil and structural design for critical UK infrastructure projects, including shafts, foundations, and drainage, while managing project deliverables, costs, and integrated permanent works proposals. Act as the single point of contact for multiple projects, representing the Applied Engineering team in collaborative meetings and undertaking site visits. Carry out design work, check other designs, and mentor staff across all levels. Collaborate with external designers and other Principal Engineers to develop practical solutions above and below ground. Manage design work of other staff members and contribute to lessons learned meetings.
Required Qualifications
- HND/Bachelor/ Master's Degree in Civil Engineering
- A designer with the ability to manage projects from the design and cost perspectives
- Experience of effective financial management and control of projects
- Strong analysis and design skills with the ability to interpret design requirements and analyse complex structures
- A person with an open-minded approach to solving civil and structural engineering challenges to find the best solution from all perspectives of a project
- Preferably Chartered with ICE and/ or IStructE
