Job Summary
As a Principal Engineer in mine waste engineering, you'll lead major tailings and mine waste engineering programs influencing safety, sustainability, and regulatory confidence. You'll develop innovative mine waste design approaches, provide strategic technical direction for multidisciplinary teams, and strengthen client partnerships. Your role includes mentoring engineers and contributing to industry best practices, supported by 15+ years of relevant experience and a degree in a related engineering discipline.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of progressive experience in tailings, mine waste, or geotechnical engineering
- Demonstrated success delivering complex, high‐risk, and large‐scale mining projects
- Proven experience in tailings design, water balance, risk evaluations, and closure planning
- Strategic mindset with the ability to lead client portfolios and shape long‐term technical direction
Desired Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration
- Recognized technical authority in mine waste engineering
- Ability to mentor teams and build technical depth across regional and national practice groups
