Job Summary
Principal Engineer, MEP at AECOM leading technical execution of complex plumbing design and fire suppression projects. Apply advanced technical expertise, evaluate and adapt engineering methodologies, and lead or significantly contribute to development of technical approaches while ensuring compliance with client requirements, quality standards, and internal procedures. Lead verification on projects, coordinate junior technical staff, manage milestones and budgets, and engage with internal and external stakeholders to convey complex information and influence decisions. Contribute to proposals and business development, mentor team members, and pursue continuous learning in building systems technology. Preferred familiarity with Revit MEP, BIM methodologies, Common Data Environment platforms (e.g., BIM 360, ACC), and clash detection software. Day-to-day responsibilities include independent work with substantial latitude, coordinating with clients and project teams, and representing the company externally on industry thought leadership and professional activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in building services engineering
- Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in plumbing design, fire suppression (sprinkler, hydrants, dry pipes, gas, etc.)
- Proficiency in at least one engineering modeling/drafting software
- Advanced proficiency in English, both written and spoken
