Principal Engineer, Mapping and Localization
On-siteSanta Clara, California, United States
Job Summary
Design and implement high-fidelity fusion algorithms combining LiDAR, Radar, Camera, IMU, and GNSS data with HD Maps to achieve centimeter-level accuracy. Lead the evolution of localization architecture, making critical build-vs-buy decisions and defining long-term technical roadmaps. Develop pipelines for generating, maintaining, and querying HD maps while solving the "stale map" problem through fleet data-driven change detection. Optimize code for embedded compute constraints and provide self-diagnosis capability for localization systems. Act as a technical mentor to senior and junior engineers, conducting rigorous code reviews and fostering engineering excellence.
