Principal Engineer – Large Fabrications

Provide technical leadership for the design, dynamics, analysis, and validation of large fabricated and composite structures within wind turbine nacelle applications. Own the technical rigor and acceptance of engineering solutions for sheet-metal and composite components, ensuring safety, quality, manufacturability, and compliance with requirements. Chair design reviews for fabricated and composite components, perform detailed drawing reviews including tolerance analysis and stack-up verification, and conduct structural calculations and simulations using ANSYS with emphasis on strength and frequency-domain fatigue. Apply IIW, Eurocode, and DNV standards to support engineering justification and compliance; support certification activities; bridge testing and simulation results; identify model improvements; mentor engineers; lead cross-functional collaboration with design, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and certification; contribute to PLM-based product lifecycle management and drive technical advancement.
