Principal Engineer IT Infrastructure

Job Summary
Provide technical leadership in strategy and standards development, designing and maintaining complex IT systems, applications, and networks. Oversee system uptime, performance, and security through monitoring, vulnerability testing, and risk management. Mentor fellow engineers, develop technical best practices, and communicate effectively with stakeholders across the organization. Contribute to technology strategy, manage vendor relationships, and assist in budget management to ensure projects meet business goals. Maintain accurate documentation of all relevant IT infrastructure. On-call rotation and after-hours support required. Limited travel (~10%).
Required Qualifications
- 10+ Year's experience in relevant technology functions
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Extensive experience in implementing and maintaining complex IT systems
- Experience in multiple technical areas such as infrastructure, software development, security, and cloud technologies
- Experience providing technical leadership and mentorship to fellow engineers
- Experience in working on technical projects from inception to completion
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Extensive experience in working with IT vendors and service providers
- Extensive experience in assisting in the management of IT budgets to ensure that projects and initiatives are delivered within budget constraints
- Ability to analyze complex problems and develop innovative solutions that meet the organization's needs
- Ability to make informed decisions quickly and effectively
- Ability to mentor and motivate team members
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across the organization
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities
- Ability to understand and manage emotions, both in oneself and others, and to build positive relationships with team members and stakeholders
- Ability to act with honesty, transparency, and ethics, and to build trust with team members and stakeholders
- Ability to identify new technologies and trends and to implement them in a way that improves the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization's IT infrastructure
- Limited travel ~10%
