Job Summary
Principal Engineer responsible for Engineering Excellence across CTO Foundations in Analytics & Common Components. Drive high standards, design and deliver quality software efficiently (ideally zero toil), communicate technical strategy, and influence senior stakeholders in IT solutions aligned to HSBC Technology’s vision. Hands-on coding around 60% of the time, with expertise in Java/Python/Go and Kubernetes/cloud, microservice design, and containerised solutions. Demonstrates experience in building highly available systems at scale, open-source tooling, and active contribution via GitHub. Focus on automation, DORA metrics, and engineering best practices while leading cross-functional teams and shaping technical direction. Role involves engaging with senior stakeholders, aligning delivery with business needs, and promoting engineering excellence across a portfolio of agile teams. Location: Pune or Hyderabad, India.
