Job Summary
The Principal Engineer-Gas Network will deliver innovative and compliant engineering solutions for natural gas and LPG systems across infrastructure and building projects. Key responsibilities include undertaking infrastructure design, preparing technical markups and specifications, managing workloads and project budgets, and engaging with clients and local authorities. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a BEng in Mechanical Engineering and 10-15 years of industry experience, with proficiency in Public Health Services and Fire Protection Systems design. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential, alongside experience with industry-standard software.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum BEng or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institute
- 10-15 years of industry experience post qualification
- Exceptional skills and knowledge of working in a design consultancy
- A high level of technical skill in Public Health Services and Fire Protection Systems design
- Good level of computer literacy in Windows, HEVACOMP, NES, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Revit, and Microsoft packages
- Able to innovate new solutions as well as apply existing solutions to problems
- Good report writing skills, experience in making presentations to clients
Desired Qualifications
- Chartered Engineer or working towards with Membership of IPA, CIBSE, NFPA
- Significant experience working in a design consultancy, preferably in the Middle East
- Proven experience working in a design consultancy in the capacity of designer and technical authority
- Good knowledge of Local and International Codes (NFPA 54, NFPA 58, IGEM etc) and Authority Regulations (Dubai Civil Défense, DM, ADNOC, SEWA, FEWA,SBC)
- Ability to develop technical specifications in Master format CSI and NES
- Wider knowledge of integrated design and collaboration with other disciplines is highly desirable
- Financial awareness is preferred, but the ability to develop this skill is required
