Job Summary
Principal Engineer at Fuze Health/FuzeRx leads the architectural vision across the engineering organization, guiding design and execution of complex, mission-critical systems to support healthcare platforms (digital pharmacy, API-powered fulfillment, patient care). You’ll set engineering standards, mentor Staff/Senior/Mid-level engineers, drive scalable architectures (AWS, PostgreSQL, Ruby on Rails, Python, TypeScript/JavaScript), ensure regulatory compliance (HIPAA, SOC2), optimize performance and security, and collaborate with Product Management, Engineering Managers, and Pharmacy Operations on long-term goals. Requires 10+ years in software engineering, 3+ years at a Staff/Principal level, and deep experience with distributed systems in healthcare or regulated environments; preferred Master’s degree and open-source contributions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- 10+ years of progressive, hands-on experience in software engineering and systems design
- 3+ years operating at a Staff, Principal, or equivalent senior architectural level
- Extensive background in building and scaling distributed, high-throughput, and highly available B2B SaaS or transactional systems
