Job Summary
Design and implement scalable Java backend services for the E&V Agent Platform, focusing on data-intensive workloads. Identify database bottlenecks, optimize complex search queries, and establish robust engineering patterns for high-volume transactional workloads to reduce lock contention. Build consistent architectural principles, tooling, and observability across teams to detect database risks early while evaluating modern database technologies within the Google Cloud ecosystem. Act as a key technical expert to resolve critical incidents and conduct architecture reviews that upskill engineering teams. Work hands-on with teams to continuously evolve the PostgreSQL ecosystem and ensure systems are performant by default.
Required Qualifications
- Several years of proven technical leadership experience, or an experienced Senior Backend Engineer
- Profound experience in writing clean, maintainable code in Java, ideally using the Spring Boot framework
- Good knowledge of data structures
- Deep understanding of relational database design principles
- Knowledge of SQL (PostgreSQL preferred)
- Understanding of modern cloud-based backend architectures and technologies (GCP preferred)
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English

- Combine deep backend engineering expertise with cross-team technical guidance, actively resolving critical incidents and conducting architecture reviews to upskill engineering teams
