Principal Engineer - CPTO, BPL

Principal Software Engineer, Platform at Barclays’ payments acceptance business. Lead on designing, operating, and refining an internal developer platform; drive migration toward distributed systems with high availability and low latency; mentor engineers, run RFCs/workshops, and foster communities of practice; partner with product, design, and other stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable, compliant technical solutions; focus on developer experience, automation, and policy-compliant SDLC controls, while enabling rapid delivery for product teams; role includes leadership of a large engineering function or significant, organization-wide projects, with a strong emphasis on risk, controls, and the Barclays values and leadership behaviours.
