Job Summary
As a Principal Engineer at Splunk (Cisco), provide strategic leadership and direction to multiple software engineering teams, including managers, senior managers, and high-level individual contributors. Drive the development and delivery of Cloud Native components, establish annual objectives and priorities, contribute to product strategy with cross-functional teams, and ensure successful execution of the product roadmap. Manage multiple teams with complementary focal areas, foster growth and development, and optimize processes to increase software delivery. Lead efforts to align technical direction with business goals and drive impactful outcomes across cloud, security, observability, and platform domains.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field
- 15+ years of relevant engineering experience
- Minimum of 5+ years of direct supervisory experience leading software engineering teams
- Experience developing and executing long-range technical plans for major software initiatives in cloud and non-cloud solutions
- Proven track record of establishing organizational objectives and achieving performance targets
- Experience contributing to product or functional business strategy within a technology company
- Strong background in modern software development practices (CI/CD, DevOps, Agile)
- Preferred: Master’s degree in computer science or Engineering with 8+ years of experience
- Experience with enterprise security program defining security strategy and IT architecture
- Experience using AI for Development and Operations in cybersecurity product development
