Job Summary
Principal Engineer (Backend focus - Java) leads the technical helm of a high-profile global project, shaping scalable cloud-native architectures and high-performance engineering culture. Hands-on with Java and React, you’ll own architectural decisions in an AWS-based ecosystem, drive robust CI/CD, code quality, and platform security, and mentor distributed teams across London and Nearshore. You’ll engage with stakeholders—from engineers to Product Owners and Senior Executives—to align technical roadmap with business value, bringing full-stack mastery, cloud expertise, and a consultative leadership mindset to a growth-account environment.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on engineering with Java (Spring Boot) and React
- Experience building and deploying on AWS including serverless components
- Experience leading and enabling remote or nearshore teams
- Strong ability to discuss API design with engineers and roadmap priorities with Product Owners and Senior Executives
- Ability to drive CI/CD and code-quality initiatives
- Experience in high-volume data streaming or programmatic advertising platforms (advantageous)
