Principal Engineer - Applications

Job Summary
Plan, install, configure, and transition time and frequency equipment at customer sites while diagnosing and resolving technical issues to ensure minimal downtime. Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and repairs to optimize system performance, then provide on-site and remote technical support and training to customers and end-users. Prepare detailed technical documentation, service reports, and project records, collaborating with internal teams and customers to meet project requirements and deadlines. Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards during all field operations, communicating effectively with customers to provide updates and guidance. This role requires 0-25% travel, a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, and minimum 10 years of experience in field engineering with time and frequency systems.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, or related field) or equivalent experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience
- Proven experience in field engineering, specifically with time and frequency systems
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and documentation
- Proficiency with relevant tools, software, and equipment for time and frequency systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in customer support, project management, and technical documentation
- Ability to travel as required for customer support (including occasional short-notice travel)
- Valid driver's license
- Active TS/SCI clearance required
- U.S. citizenship, Permanent US residency or classification as a protected individual as defined in 8 USC 1324b (a) (3)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with GPS, frequency standards, clocks, NTP/PTP servers, etc.
- Experience with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, time Internal and Frequency Counters, digital multimeters
- Experience with Linux scripting and python
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Visio
- Familiarity with project management and customer service principles
