Job Summary
Principal Engineer, AI Research role focused on turning AI research into production-grade, auditable AI systems for enterprise environments. You will translate company-level AI strategy into concrete research directions, drive high-judgment decisions across retrieval architecture, knowledge extraction, grounding, and hallucination mitigation, and design ontologies and production pipelines to evaluate and deploy emerging AI techniques safely in regulated settings. You’ll mentor across the organization, collaborate with AI Infrastructure, Product, Engineering, Security, and customer-facing teams, and lead a lean embedded team on priority platform programs. Required strengths include deep applied AI/ML experience, expert Python (Go a plus), expertise in RAG, retrieval, document AI, enterprise NLP, evaluator methods, and governance-focused design to deliver reliable, explainable AI in high-trust environments. Global collaboration across Singapore, India, Japan, Europe, and the US is emphasized.
Required Qualifications
- Deep applied AI, ML, or AI systems experience
- Expert-level Python
- Working knowledge of Go
- Experience designing production-grade AI systems for enterprise environments
- Experience with ontology design and management
- Knowledge extraction, retrieval, and grounding in enterprise contexts
- Experience with AI observability, guardrails, and accountability
- Strong ability to communicate complex AI decisions to diverse audiences
- Ability to lead a lean embedded research engineering team
- Experience translating AI strategy into research directions and experiments
