Job Summary
Lead electrical engineering design and delivery for mining and resource sector projects, providing technical leadership across power distribution, substations, and HV/LV systems. Guide multidisciplinary project teams through design reviews, calculations, and technical assurance while acting as a trusted advisor to clients. Take ownership of project scope, deliverables, and quality, identifying risks and driving value-focused solutions. Support business development activities and proposals to strengthen client relationships. This role involves shaping the future of electrical engineering capability within WSP's Brisbane-based Mining team, contributing to landmark brownfield and greenfield projects across Australia.
Required Qualifications
- Degree qualifications in Electrical Engineering
- RPEQ registration, or eligibility to obtain registration
- Significant experience delivering mining, minerals processing, resources or heavy industrial projects
- Strong knowledge of Australian electrical design standards and industry best practice
- Experience with power systems, HV/LV infrastructure and industrial electrical design
- Demonstrated leadership of multidisciplinary project teams
- Strong client management and business development capability
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience mentoring and developing technical professionals
