Job Summary
Senior-level principal electrical engineering role focused on delivering electrical power system designs for large data centers and hyperscale facilities. Responsible for leading multidisciplinary electrical design activities, developing concepts from client meetings, producing construction documents using AutoCAD MEP and Revit MEP, reviewing shop drawings and submittals, responding to RFPs/RFIs, coordinating with management and stakeholders, and directing a design team to deliver complex power distribution solutions (generators, UPS, PDUs, switchgear). Requires extensive experience in data-center power systems, knowledge of NEC/Life Safety/Energy codes, and strong client-communication skills. Will lead design efforts, manage project objectives and schedules, and support business development and client relationships. Not a management role but oversee design delivery and potential intern coordination. Proficient with various electrical topologies and distribution systems; able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Licensed PE
- Experience with design of electrical systems in data centers / mission critical facilities
- Proficiency with AutoCAD MEP and Revit MEP
- Experience with UPS, generators, switchgear, PDUs, batteries
- Knowledge of NEC, life safety, energy conservation codes
- Proficient in design and calculation software (short circuit, arc flash, etc.)
- Strong communication and client-facing skills
- Ability to lead design teams and deliver construction documents
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Military veteran experience is a plus
- Experience with RFIs and proposals
