Job Summary
Propose and own electrical architectures for new product development, including head-borne systems and smart battery packs. Execute schematic capture and PCB layout across power, digital, embedded, and analog circuits, then create electronic assembly data packages for manufacturing. Mentor junior engineers, drive continuous improvements, and partner with business development on proof-of-concept prototypes. Manage the electrical component database, develop system block diagrams, and support supply chain transitions to production. Create test plans, coordinate validation testing, generate qualification reports, and conduct field failure analysis. Contribute to cost estimation, record and analyze test data using statistical techniques, and prepare technical reports on project status. This role reports to the Principal Electrical Engineer at Gentex's Manchester facility in New Hampshire.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. Electrical Engineering or equivalent related experience
- 10 years' plus experience with electrical design in a new product and/or support in a manufacturing environment
- 7 years with MSEE
- Expert knowledge of analog, digital, embedded, and power electronic systems
- Experience with embedded controllers, DSPs, ARM, modern microprocessors
- Experience with analog/audio design (microphone amplifiers, audio filters)
- Experience designing with linear and switch-mode regulators
- Experience with Serdes, Memory DDR3/4, MIPI and Parallel Video
- Experience with WiFi, Bluetooth, USB, IMU and GNSS devices
- Familiarity with EMI measurement and mitigation techniques (MIL-STD-461/MI-STD-810)
- Familiarity with Lattice FPGA's, Software Radiant/Diamond
- Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout tools
- Experience in electro-mechanical assembly manufacturing
- J-STD experience
- ISO9000/AS9100 knowledge
- Strong written and verbal communication across all organizational levels
- Pre-employment drug/alcohol/background screening
Desired Qualifications
- Cadence/Allegro preferred
- Experience in electro-acoustic components a plus
- Experience developing qualification test plans and reports preferred
