Job Summary
Principal Electrical Engineer sought to join a growing ANZ team, providing technical leadership and design oversight for electrical networks across transmission and distribution. Responsibilities include detailed electrical network design, engineering calculations and studies to support substation development and asset upgrades, developing and maintaining AutoCAD and Revit models for substations, project scoping and estimating, and contributing to business development and cross-team collaboration across NZ and Australia. The role involves coordinating with a broad, multi-disciplinary team, supporting the NZ Energy offering, and travel as needed. The ideal candidate will be a recognised energy-sector professional with Washington Accord-aligned qualifications, Chartered status, and extensive experience in substation/transmission/distribution projects, with proficiency in design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, NEARA and PLS CADD, and a track record of effective stakeholder engagement and leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering (Washington Accord mandatory)
- Chartered Status (CPEng, RPEQ or equivalent)
- 15+ years of experience
- Experience in Substation or Transmission Lines or Distribution
- Demonstrated experience in delivering overhead or underground distribution network designs
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, NEARA, PLS CADD or similar
- Effective communication skills with ability to work with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to travel as required
