Job Summary
Senior electrical engineer for data center power systems design and delivery. Lead design teams and oversee full-cycle electrical design for data centers and hyperscale projects. Develop electrical distribution systems and equipment layouts (generators, UPS, PDUs, switchgear); prepare construction documents using AutoCAD MEP and Revit MEP; coordinate with trades, manage RFIs/shop drawings, respond to client meetings, and support proposal development. 15+ years of experience in MEP/design firms, Licensed PE, and strong communication skills; focus on delivery rather than management. The role involves design for enterprise data centers, colocation facilities, and hyperscale environments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
- 15+ years' experience in electrical engineering for data centers or mission-critical facilities
- Experience with electrical power systems design for data centers
- Experience with Generators, UPS, PDUs, switchgear
- Proficiency in AutoCAD MEP and Revit MEP
- Strong communication and project-lead skills
- Ability to develop construction documents and manage design teams
- Knowledge of NEC, Life Safety, and Energy Conservation Codes
- Experience with BIM, SKM Powertools, ETAP or similar tools
- Experience with field observations and commissioning support
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
