Job Summary
Senior data-center electrical design engineer role focusing on delivering complex power systems, including generators, UPS, PDUs, and switchgear, for new data centers and expansions. Requires SME-level expertise in EE power systems, proficiency with AutoCAD MEP and Revit MEP, and ability to lead design teams, manage client communications, respond to RFPs, review submittals, and oversee construction documentation and commissioning. A Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and a PE license with 15+ years of experience in data-center/mission-critical projects are required. The role involves collaboration with management, field engineers, and trades, and emphasizes reliability, energy efficiency, LEED considerations, and scalable design for enterprise, colocation, and hyperscale facilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
- 15+ years of experience in electrical design for data centers or mission-critical facilities
- Experience with electrical power systems design including single/three-phase power distribution, UPS, generators, PDUs, switchgear
- Proficiency with AutoCAD MEP and Revit MEP; BIM experience a plus
- Ability to lead design teams and coordinate with internal/external stakeholders
- Strong communication skills and client-facing capabilities
- Experience developing construction documents, specifications, and sequences of operations
- Knowledge of NEC, life safety, and energy conservation codes
- Experience with field observations, commissioning support, and RFIs/RFP responses
- Military veteran experience is a plus
