Job Summary
Principal Electrical & Compliance Engineer to serve as the technical authority on electrical systems integration and compliance. Own the interface between VEIR's superconducting power delivery equipment and datacenter distribution infrastructure, translating customer facility requirements into integration specifications, driving connector and component design for interoperability, and establishing the compliance framework governing design, testing, and deployment. Role combines hardware, systems architecture, and regulatory compliance with high ownership in a fast-paced, scale-up environment. Requires deep datacenter power distribution experience and command of NEC, NFPA 70E, IEC 61439, IEC 62271, UL 508A, and relevant datacenter standards; involves leading cross-functional teams, AHJ interactions, and development of test plans. The position is based in Woburn, MA and emphasizes independent problem solving, clear technical communication, and hands-on verification across FAT/SAT processes.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS in Electrical Engineering
- 12+ years of professional electrical engineering experience
- Significant experience with hyperscale or colocation datacenter electrical distribution systems (MV switchgear, transformers, UPS, PDUs, busway)
- Deep knowledge of NEC NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, IEC 61439, IEC 62271, UL standards for power distribution and switchgear
- Hands-on experience designing, qualifying, or specifying high-current electrical connectors and interface components
- Experience developing and executing FAT/SAT for electrical power systems
- Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred; equivalent demonstrated expertise will be considered
- Ability to translate regulatory and customer requirements into design constraints and acceptance criteria
- BA/BS in Electrical Engineering; MS or PhD preferred
