Job Summary
Provide instructional leadership and direction to staff; supervise and observe instructional programs and practices; hire, evaluate, and terminate staff as needed; serve as liaison to the Board of Directors and Management Company; establish high standards for students and staff; manage and supervise procedures for operation, discipline, and safety; ensure compliance with laws and policies; establish and maintain a master schedule for instructional programs; evaluate lesson plans and observe classes; supervise discipline and attendance systems; maintain a safe environment; notify relevant entities of issues; keep staff informed and seek ideas for improvement; conduct meetings; maintain inventory systems and office operations; perform other duties as deemed appropriate by the Management Company or Board. Requirements include a principal license (preferred) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related discipline, plus demonstrated leadership in administration and strong communication, computer literacy, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Required Qualifications
- Principal license preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education or other related discipline
- Demonstrated successful teaching experience preferred in an urban education setting
- Minimum of three years demonstrated successful leadership in an administrative position
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Computer literacy
- Effective organizational skills with the ability to perform multiple tasks
- Demonstrated ability to exhibit strong interpersonal skills with students, parents and community
- Ability to meet established deadlines
