Principal, Digital Product Management

Job Summary

Lead the strategy and execution of new product development, enhancements, and end-of-life decisions for Digital Products and Services from concept through deployment. Drive initiatives across the product lifecycle, including roadmap creation, requirements documentation, prototype development, and competitive intelligence analysis. Manage assigned staff, conduct market research, and serve as the primary subject matter expert for cross-functional business units. Oversee revenue budgeting, pricing, sales strategy, and product positioning while interfacing with IT, Sales, Operations, and Finance. Execute simultaneous product launches and provide direct client support for RFPs and demonstrations. Requires on-site presence at San Diego Headquarters with flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays, plus up to 15% domestic travel.

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS Degree
  • 8+ years related experience
  • 8+ years of SME in respective area(s)
  • supervisory responsibilities with at least 4+ years leading individual contributors and leaders of leaders
  • 5 years of MedImpact experience
  • appropriate external leadership training program
  • internal mentorship with a seasoned leader (VP+ level)
  • knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • knowledge of Microsoft Project
  • working knowledge of systems platforms and new technologies
  • Previous new product development, product management, and sales/marketing experience in the health information technology field
  • Prior pharmacy benefits management, disease management, healthcare or managed care environment experience
  • Experience in more than one of the following disciplines: Technology Management, Product Marketing, Product Price Management, Finance, Operations

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry

Desired Qualifications

  • Product Management Certification (e.g. AIPMM, PDMA, Pragmatic Institute)
  • Project Management Professional and Certified Scrum Master certification
  • Experience in more than one of the following disciplines: Technology Management, Product Marketing, Product Price Management, Finance, Operations
  • General knowledge of operations, including scheduling, procurement, manufacturing, test engineering and quality systems
  • Prior pharmacy benefits management, disease management, healthcare or managed care environment experience
