Principal Design Coordinator

Job Summary
Lead piping design teams on projects, overseeing general arrangement drawings, isometrics, and 3D models; ensure compliance with industry codes (ASME, API, ANSI, ISO) and client requirements; manage scope, resources, schedules, and budgets; provide strategic input on methodologies and innovations; coordinate interdisciplinary reviews and interface with construction, procurement, and commissioning to align designs with field requirements; mentor designers and ensure quality through QA checks and documentation; prepare technical reports and design updates for stakeholders; stay current with piping design trends and tools.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years’ experience in piping design in Plant 3D
- CAD design and drafting techniques
- reading of drawings and reproduction methods
- knowledge of ASME B31.3, B31.4 and API 570
- familiarity with design standards, codes and guides
- ability to lead and mentor designers/drafters
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- valid driver’s license
- ability to move about an industrial plant and travel to project sites
