Job Summary
Lead Generative AI initiatives for Xometry’s Generative AI team, owning an 18–24 month technical roadmap and driving large-scale cross-functional ML/AI programs. Develop and deploy generative models and LLMs for multimodal document processing, focusing on extracting structured data from technical drawings and purchasing orders. Serve as a technical leader for strategic initiatives including the Siemens DFM AI + IQE integration, guiding architecture across native 3D geometry processing, pricing, and real-time manufacturability feedback. Design scalable data workflows on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) and mentor scientists/engineers to elevate the team’s capabilities, while collaborating with engineering, product, and business partners to align AI solutions with business needs. Stay current with state-of-the-art research in generative AI, deep learning, and multimodal data processing, and communicate directions effectively to executives and cross-functional teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
- 10+ years of experience in ML/data science
- Strong Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow
- Experience with large-scale language and vision models; multimodal processing
- Experience deploying ML systems on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS SageMaker)
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and develop technical roadmaps
- Experience with generative AI and data extraction from documents
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (required); advanced degree highly preferred (MS/PhD)
- 10+ years of experience in applied ML/data science
- Expert-level Python proficiency; experience with PyTorch and TensorFlow
- Experience with large-scale language models (LLMs) and multimodal data processing
- Strong track record building production ML systems and AI/ML infrastructure
- Experience with cloud platforms and model deployment (e.g., AWS SageMaker)
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive strategic AI initiatives
- Experience integrating AI into enterprise/business workflows, including domains like manufacturing or supply chain is a plus
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ownership of technical roadmaps and delivery of long-term AI strategy
- Experience with generative AI, fine-tuning models, and structured data extraction
- Familiarity with 3D geometry processing and design/engineering data is a plus
