Job Summary
Principal, Data Governance and Compliance Monitoring leading data management and governance across Microsoft 365, Power BI, Atlassian Suite, and cloud platforms; execute advanced data discovery, search, and retrieval; manage data lifecycle operations including classification, retention, and remediation aligned with compliance; own data governance frameworks, data protection, retention, and monitoring; administer Microsoft 365 compliance controls and support audits, regulatory requests, and investigations; automate data processes using PowerShell, Script Runner, and webhooks; SME for Data Management, Governance & M365 Controls; collaborate with Compliance, Legal, Security, and Technology teams; hybrid work arrangement in Bengaluru.
Required Qualifications
- 6–10 years of experience in data management, enterprise data search, and collaboration platforms
- Strong hands-on expertise in Microsoft 365 ecosystem (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Azure AD, Power BI)
- Enterprise data discovery and search techniques
- Large-scale data repositories and structured/unstructured data handling
- Proven ability in data lifecycle management (classification, retention, remediation, deletion)
- Strong technical troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
- Experience with Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence)
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Workspace)
- Programming / scripting experience: PowerShell (preferred), Python, JavaScript or similar
- Experience in automation, APIs, or workflow tooling (Power Platform, webhooks, etc.)
- Certifications in Microsoft, cloud, or compliance domains (e.g., MS-500, AZ-104, Purview, CIPP)
- Exposure to digital forensics and advanced eDiscovery workflows
- Experience leveraging AI-enabled tools for data management
