Principal Data Engineer

Job Summary
Design and optimize data platform architecture by implementing processing frameworks and translating business requirements into architectural decisions. Collaborate with stakeholders and engineering teams to define data strategies while driving quality, metadata management, and governance best practices across cloud environments. Support modern cloud-based solutions using SQL, Python, and Spark, with expertise in GCP, Databricks, and Snowflake. This role supports advanced analytics and reporting within a dedicated team offering hybrid work options across Poland and up to 140 days abroad.
Required Qualifications
- At least 8 years of commercial experience as a Data Engineer, Lead Data Engineer, or Data Architect
- Strong expertise in SQL
- Strong expertise in Python
- Strong expertise in Spark or PySpark
- Experience in data architecture, data quality, metadata management, analytics, and reporting
- Strong experience with cloud data engineering tools, preferably within GCP
- Experience designing data architectures on Databricks and/or Snowflake platforms
- Experience with modern data engineering toolsets
- Hybrid work in one of our locations: Lodz, Poznan, Krakow, Warsaw, Wroclaw (2 office days per week)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Qlik, or Apache Superset
