Job Summary
Principal Data Center Manager on the East Coast with remote/travel responsibilities, driving client relationships with enterprise, colocation, and hyperscale end users. Leads data center construction project management and business development efforts, mentors staff, and represents the company in client-facing and external data center contacts. Manages project budgets, schedules, safety/risk plans, cash flow and cost control, reviews profit forecasts, and negotiates owner contracts. Partners with marketing and BD to create strategic plans and targets, and oversees RFQs/RFIs and vendor relationships. Requires a BS in Construction/Engineering or related field, 10–15 years of data center construction experience, strong leadership, P/L and program-management skills, and ability to travel; established network of data center clients and vendors; active involvement in industry associations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Construction, Engineering or related degree
- A minimum of ten to fifteen years relevant experience in data center construction and team leadership
- Experience managing multiple data center construction projects in the range of $50mm - $500mm+
- Active network of data center related clients and strategic partners (architects, engineers, owner’s reps and vendors)
- Experience in business development and RFQs/RFIs
- P/L experience
- Program Management
- Team Building Experience - Hiring / Firing
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to travel and attend industry conferences (7x24 Exchange, AFCOM, DCD, BISNOW / DICE, Uptime Institute)
