Principal Critical Facilities Engineer (SME)

Job Summary

Lead as the site's highest technical authority for all critical infrastructure systems, providing enterprise-level engineering leadership and establishing standards for maintenance strategies, reliability programs, and operational excellence. Final technical approvals for SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, and maintenance procedures while overseeing the development of the 52-week maintenance schedule and optimizing PM, PdM, and RCM programs. Provide 24/7 technical consultation during major incidents, lead root cause analysis for SEV events, and drive continuous improvement through post-work reviews. Manage technical vendor relationships, develop mechanical operating standards, and partner with Training leadership to build qualification programs. Monitor PUE, identify energy-saving initiatives, and ensure all planned maintenance activities are fully prepared with approved procedures, risk assessments, and contingency plans.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 12+ years in mission-critical engineering
  • Expert knowledge of electrical
  • Expert knowledge of mechanical
  • Expert knowledge of EPMS/BMS
  • Expert knowledge of Fire Life Safety
  • Expert knowledge of reliability engineering

Desired Qualifications

  • 15+ years in hyperscale data centers
  • Experience supporting Microsoft, AWS, Google, Meta, or Oracle
  • PE, CMRP or equivalent certification
