Job Summary
Principal CPA, Director of Tax (US - Remote) is a full-time, remote role managing client relationships end-to-end, leading a tax team (senior tax manager and 3 tax accountants), and delivering personal and corporate tax planning and compliance while maximizing opportunities. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing tax returns, developing KPIs to monitor team performance, responding to client inquiries, providing strategic guidance on entity structure and compensation/tax-efficient structures, assisting with government programs or grants, and maintaining high client satisfaction in a cloud-based, client-facing environment. Requires CPA license with 8+ years in public accounting, strong communication and leadership skills, experience with cloud-based accounting platforms (Xero preferred; QBO, Sage, Netsuite), and familiarity with major tax software; remote-friendly with a flexible schedule.
Required Qualifications

- familiarity with payroll settings adjustments for planning goals
- proficiency with cloud-based accounting platforms (Xero preferred; also QBO, Sage, Netsuite) and tax prep software
- experience with KPI tracking and data-driven decision making
- strong communication and client-facing skills
- ability to work online using cloud-based tools
- proactive problem solving and deadline management
- entity-formation advisory related to taxes
- knowledge of federal/state income, payroll, and sales tax issues
- ability to develop tax projections and scenario modeling
- experience with government programs/grant opportunities
