Job Summary
Design and deliver complex automation and control system integration projects by participating in technical architecture, serving as a subject matter expert across platforms like PLC, SCADA, and MES, and providing hands-on support for programming, testing, and commissioning. Conduct design reviews, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and ensure compliance with engineering standards while mentoring engineers and guiding project managers on scope and resource needs. Collaborate with customers to present solutions, clarify requirements, and support proposal development with technical input and risk assessments. Evaluate emerging technologies to enhance integration capabilities and contribute to enforcing engineering best practices across the organization. This remote role requires a 2-hour commute to Plano, TX, with 30-40 percent domestic travel, and is open to candidates with 8+ years of progressive engineering experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- 8+ years of progressive engineering experience in automation, controls, or system integration
- Deep technical expertise in one or more major automation platforms (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, Wonderware, Ignition, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols, networking, and system architecture
- Demonstrated experience in delivering complex, multi-discipline integration projects
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication skills with ability to interact with customers, vendors, and cross-functional teams
- Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed for design, testing, and commissioning - 30-40 percent domestic
