Principal Consultant, Air Quality

Lead strategic growth for ERM’s air quality services in the Midwest by directing high-value projects that ensure environmental compliance and climate adaptation for industrial clients. Apex responsibilities include developing market plans, leading complex air permitting and compliance programs, serving as a trusted advisor to clients, managing project deliverables, budgets, and schedules, expanding ERM’s profile through technical excellence and business development, and mentoring junior staff. This role requires deep expertise in federal/state air regulations, air emission inventories, Title V/PSD/NSR/BACT/MACT, and performance in client relationship management, negotiation with regulatory agencies, and cross-functional collaboration. The position is based in Rolling Meadows, IL; Milwaukee, WI; Minneapolis, MN; or Holland, MI with a hybrid work arrangement. A bachelor’s degree is required; preferred qualifications include a master’s in environmental science/engineering and professional certifications (P.E., CSP, CHMM). The anticipated base pay range is $127,648–$163,088 per year, with comprehensive benefits and potential bonus eligibility.
