Job Summary
Principal Clinical Specialist in Abbott's Electrophysiology (EP) business leads advanced engineering, sales, educational and clinical support for EP products. Working under limited supervision, you provide expertise to physicians, health care professionals, patients and field staff; mentor and develop regional EP clinical support roles; lead trainings and programs on EP products; identify customer needs, product performance and potential sales opportunities to drive growth and service. You will deliver 24-hour, on-call clinical support, maintain thorough knowledge of EP products and trends, and collaborate with sales to demonstrate product value. The role requires developing regional implant case coverage, supporting demonstrations and seminars, and staying current on regulatory requirements and industry trends. You will also support education departments with advanced seminars and materials, assist with product demonstrations, and travel as needed. The position emphasizes leadership, relationship-building with customers, and contributing to the Arrhythmia Management strategy. You must satisfy vendor credentialing requirements, including possible vaccination for COVID-19.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 years of clinical experience (internal or external)
- Solely dedicated to EP
- Must be in Sr. EP CS role for 2 years
- IBHRE EP certified
- Ability to perform the most complex EP cases solo
- Ability to mentor and train EP CS roles and CA CS roles on complex mapping cases
- Ability to conduct complex customer education events to sell the value proposition of the full ABT portfolio
- Revenue/case higher than national average
- Performs in top 1/2 of number of cases completed across clinical group at time of promotion in defined Region/Area
- Verification that you will satisfy all vendor credentialing requirements, which may include vaccination for COVID-19
