Principal Civil Engineer - Land Development

Job Summary
Provide technical leadership for complex land development projects from planning through construction, serving as the primary client contact to build long-term relationships. Lead multidisciplinary teams while mentoring Project Managers and engineers, ensuring exceptional quality delivery against scope, schedule, and budget. Represent clients at public meetings, zoning boards, and regulatory hearings, and collaborate with internal disciplines to deliver integrated solutions. Contribute to the strategic direction of the Land Development practice by identifying growth opportunities and supporting business development efforts. This role requires a PE license and 15+ years of experience. Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of progressive civil engineering experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution
- Demonstrated experience leading complex land development projects and multidisciplinary teams
- Proven leadership experience mentoring engineers and managing technical staff
- Strong understanding of local, state, and federal permitting and regulatory requirements
- Extensive experience working with municipal agencies, regulatory bodies, and private-sector clients
- Strong business development and client relationship management skills
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
- Strong organizational, project management, and leadership abilities
- Experience working in hybrid environments
