Job Summary
Principal BI Analyst at Carrum to help unlock healthcare and commercial analytics, building automated data pipelines and scalable data models. You’ll automate repetitive analyses, validate and document logic, and translate complex analytics into clear business narratives for stakeholders. The role emphasizes building data models and reporting infrastructure, dashboarding in Tableau, and working with Snowflake and other cloud warehouses on healthcare claims data. Requires 10+ years in BI/analytics, expert SQL, Tableau, Python, and a Bachelor's degree; remote-first with offices in San Francisco and Chicago; compensation in the $155k-$180k range plus equity and bonus.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years in business intelligence, analytics engineering, or data analytics
- Expert-level SQL with complex, optimized queries
- Advanced Tableau skills and dashboards
- Experience with Snowflake and at least one other cloud data warehouse (Athena, BigQuery, Redshift)
- Healthcare claims data experience (CPT codes, diagnosis codes, episode structures)
- Python proficiency for analytics automation
- Strong data quality mindset and validation/documentation practices
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage large datasets
- Strong organizational skills and multi-project management
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics, Statistics, or related field
- Entrepreneurial and resourceful mindset; startup experience preferred
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally with sales, operations, client success, data, and product teams
