Job Summary
Lead the platform services engineering team as a technical authority, developing and maintaining APIs and services for the Path™ Platform. Collaborate with product owners to define business requirements, translate them into software tasks, and design performant, scalable solutions using Java frameworks and microservice architectures. Provide exemplary code and design guidelines, conduct code reviews, document designs, and head technical talks. Coach and mentor team members while coordinating a distributed team across multiple time zones. Report to the VP of Engineering.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in full-stack development
- Great communication skills
- End-to-end understanding of modern application architectures
- Big picture orientation with strong attention to detail
- Comfort in dealing with highly abstract concepts and complex architectures
- Experience with object-oriented development
- Proficiency in unit and functional testing
- Experience with RESTful API development and integration
- Experience with Java frameworks such as Spring/DropWizard/etc.
- Experience with Docker based microservice architectures
- Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL or equivalent RDBMS
- Experience with source repositories (git/Bitbucket)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with functional programming
- Experience with Kotlin/alternate JVM languages
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
