Job Summary

The Principal Associate role involves acting on diverse pensions issues, providing comprehensive advice to pensions trustees, sponsors, and insurers. Responsibilities include managing day-to-day advice regarding pension schemes, executing risk transfer exercises, and addressing legislative changes and scheme documentation. An essential part of the role is business development and profile raising, alongside pure legal work. Candidates must be qualified solicitors with at least 6 years of PQE in pensions law, a proven track record in advisory roles, and the ability to build long-term client relationships.

Required Qualifications

  • Qualified Solicitor
  • 6+ years' PQE
  • Excellent understanding of pensions legislation
  • Proven understanding of technical legal issues
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
  • Solid organization and time management skills
  • Attention to detail and drafting skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Track record of advising trustees of large occupational pension schemes
  • Experience in pensions advisory (trustee and sponsor) and pensions risk transfer
  • Managed and supervised junior lawyers
  • Collaborative work experience with lawyers in other teams
  • Experience in business development events
  • Writing technical articles and presenting seminars
