Principal / Associate Engineer - Liveable Places

Job Summary
Lead the delivery of multiple sustainable transport and public realm projects from concept through detailed design and on-site implementation, providing technical oversight and quality assurance across highways and active travel schemes. Coordinate multi-disciplinary design packages including structures, lighting, and sustainable drainage, while managing project programmes, budgets, and cost control. Review and approve technical deliverables, ensure compliance with UK standards, and support framework opportunities and bid submissions. Mentor junior engineers and graduates while fostering a high-performing team culture within the Liveable Places team.
Required Qualifications
- Experience delivering public realm, active travel or transport schemes in complex urban environments, particularly in London
- Strong experience in UK highways and public realm detailed design
- Confident working with standards such as MfS, DMRB, TSRGD and LTN guidance
- Proven ability to manage project programmes, budgets, cost control and financial reporting across multiple live projects
- A proactive, collaborative and delivery-focused approach, with strong communication skills
