Job Summary
Lead and deliver electrical building services designs (power, lighting, life safety, telecoms, security, lifts, lightning protection, etc.) from concept to detailed design. Demonstrate strong team-leading abilities, proven work-winning skills, solid commercial awareness, and confidence in client-facing environments. Produce detailed calculations using tools such as Amtech, Dialux/Relux, Excel. Prepare technical specifications, design reports, and client presentations. Work with our BIM team—apply your working knowledge of Revit for modelling and drawings. Attend and represent AtkinsRéalis in client and stakeholder meetings. Undertake site surveys, inspections, and commissioning reviews. Manage your own workload, ensuring excellence in delivery, time, and budget. Support and mentor junior engineers as part of a growing team.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering / Building Services Engineering or equivalent
- Working towards or holding Chartered status (IET, CIBSE or equivalent)
- Skilled in industry software: Amtech/ProDesign, Dialux/Relux, NBS, Microsoft tools
- Solid understanding of UK technical standards and codes
- Experience with commissioning, performance evaluation, and design for measurement & verification
- Experience in Building Services Engineering with high-quality building design
- Familiar with energy reduction strategies, decarbonisation, and energy & carbon analytics
- Be comfortable producing technical specifications, design reports, and client presentations
- Ability to mentor junior engineers and manage workload
