Job Summary
Support and advance the district’s vision of “Achieving Excellence for All” on campus and in the community by assisting the school principal in overall administration of instructional programming and campus operations. Prioritize student learning and safety through instructional leadership, timely communication, and active monitoring of campus operations. Coordinate assigned student activities and services. Demonstrate strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate campus support operations, evaluate teacher effectiveness, and build trust with students, staff, and the community. If assigned to a bilingual or dual-language campus, ability to clearly communicate in both English and Spanish. Supervisory responsibilities include shared evaluation of staff with the principal and oversight of teachers, paraprofessionals, clerical staff, custodians, and others as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in educational administration or related field
- Successful completion of an approved principal preparation program and required exams
- Valid Texas Standard Principal certificate or other appropriate SBEC certificate
- Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) certified (or willing to obtain)
- Three years’ experience as a classroom teacher or instructional leader
- Ability to clearly communicate (verbal and written) in bilingual contexts if assigned to a bilingual or dual-language campus
