Job Summary
Architect the AI-native capabilities for MoEngage's hyper-scale customer engagement platform, designing scalable inference pipelines, vector database management, and LLM orchestration layers. Define the "North Star" architecture supporting 100x growth in data volume and complexity while managing high-cost GPU compute implications through strategic FinOps. Translate vague business goals into concrete technical roadmaps, subdivide multi-year initiatives into actionable quarterly plans, and act as trusted technical advisor to the business on complex integrations. Mentor Tech Leads and Staff architects on navigating technical trade-offs and fostering engineering excellence through observability and chaos engineering practices.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of software engineering experience
- at least 2+ years in a Principal/Chief Architect role or equivalent
- BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or related field
- Proven track record of designing systems that handle millions of transactions per second (TPS) and petabyte-scale data ingestion
- Deep mastery of AWS/GCP/Azure ecosystems, including container orchestration (K8s), service mesh, and multi-region active-active architectures
- Expert-level knowledge of various data stores (NoSQL, NewSQL, Columnar, Time-series) and the ability to choose the right tool for high-throughput/low-latency scenarios
- Ability to write Vision docs
- You don't just build tech; you understand the 'Why.' You can articulate how architectural decisions impact the customer experience, reliability and the P&L.
- A history of navigating high-pressure situations, resolving technical disagreements with grace, and fostering a collaborative, psychological-safe environment
Desired Qualifications
- You are a recognized figure in the tech community (published author, frequent conference speaker, or open-source contributor)
- Hands-on experience architecting platforms for Generative AI/LLMs
- Familiarity with MLOps pipelines, Model Serving and Vector search technologies
- Proven success in strangulating monolithic architectures into microservices/serverless patterns without downtime
