Job Summary
Lead architectural strategy across Google Cloud Platform for data engineering, analytics, and AI/ML initiatives. Own end-to-end delivery governance and act as a delivery lead when required, ensuring secure, scalable, and maintainable platforms. Collaborate with offshore delivery teams and data engineers/scientists to translate client needs into robust reference architectures, best practices, and production-ready solutions. Provide hands-on architecture validation, performance optimization, and issue resolution during critical delivery phases, while mentoring delivery teams to raise engineering standards. Maintain alignment between solution architecture and delivery execution, balancing immediate delivery goals with long-term strategic vision. Strong emphasis on GCP tools (BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Composer, Dataproc, Vertex AI, Cloud Storage), serverless patterns, microservices, event streaming, and ML pipelines, with fluency in Python/Java and familiarity with Agile/DevOps/MLOps practices. The role requires exceptional communication to influence stakeholders and navigate complex client environments, and a willingness to contribute hands-on when necessary.
Required Qualifications
- 12+ years of experience in Data Engineering and Cloud Native technologies (including Google Cloud Platforms)
- Experience with GCP tools and technologies: BigQuery, Cloud Composer, Data Flow, Cloud Storage, Vertex AI, Dataproc
- Hands-on experience with GCP serverless infrastructure
- Strong knowledge in Data Engineering, Data Management, and Data Governance
- Proven track record delivering end-to-end Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, or Analytics projects
- Programming knowledge in Python and/or Java
- Familiarity with Agile, CI/CD, DevOps, and MLOps for data and ML pipelines
- Experience designing and implementing global, scalable solutions using GCP
- Hands-on with architectures like microservices, event-driven systems, and online ML systems
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- Delivery leadership experience across geographies
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (preferred)
- Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect Certification (preferred)
- AWS experience in hybrid cloud setups (preferred)
