Job Summary
Principal Architect, Cloud Data Engineering at JPMorgan Chase leads cloud-based architecture initiatives within Corporate Data & Analytic Services. Provides expertise to develop scalable, secure data architectures; develops multi-year roadmaps; creates durable data ingestion and transformation frameworks; reviews code and guides cross-functional teams; serves as subject-matter expert; engages stakeholders to align strategy with business priorities; and contributes to developer experiences and product excellence. Role focuses on APIs, SDKs, microservices, data mesh/lake/warehouse architectures (Databricks/Snowflake), and cloud-native tooling. Advanced degree preferred; strong communication to executives required.
Required Qualifications
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts
- 7+ years applied experience
- Deep expertise with APIs, SDKs, Micro services’ frameworks, Developer Platforms (including Cloud native tooling), IAM (Identity and Access Management)
- Hands‐on technical architect for large data ecosystems: designed and operated data mesh, data lake, and data warehouse architectures using Databricks or Snowflake
- Experience building standardized, durable, and reusable data ingestion and transformation frameworks
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Expertise in one or more programming language(s) and experience working at code level
- Experience applying expertise and new methods to determine solutions for complex architecture problems in one or more technical disciplines
- Experience engaging stakeholders across an organization to set strategy, align on priorities and deliver to a roadmap while managing to changing business needs and requirements
- Advanced Degree in Computer Science
- Ability to present and effectively communicate to Senior Leaders and Executives
- Passion for building high-quality developer experiences and a commitment to product excellence
