Job Summary
Design and ship AI systems to unlock dense healthtech venture knowledge, embedding with investment, talent, and global development teams to solve problems in deep research and human-agent interaction. Build durable, long-horizon agents that combine complex human judgment with self-improving feedback loops, publishing learnings across the portfolio and broader research community. Raise the technical bar across the organization by teaching teammates how to build in an AI-native world and contributing reusable patterns to core systems. Source, assess, and close exceptional founders to support enduring health technology companies serving millions of patients globally. Work on a hybrid schedule from New York, San Francisco, or Bengaluru with a mix of cash and fund equity.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years in a senior technical role at a major venture-backed startup, frontier AI lab, or investment firm
- Expertise in Python and/or TypeScript
- Experience writing and reviewing millions of lines of code
- Proficiency with modern agent frameworks (Lang* / Deep Agents, the Anthropic Agent SDK, or similar)
- Experience shipping systems on top of modern agent frameworks
- Experience building or materially modifying the harness around an agent (custom tools or agentic CLIs, MCP servers, durable and sandboxed execution, observability, and self-learning loops)
- Experience building stateful, long-horizon agentic systems well beyond basic RAG
- Experience wrestling with evals, context engineering, and failure modes that emerge when models sit in front of real business users
- Experience completely reinventing workflow around AI
- Experience building sophisticated systems on top of coding agents like Claude Code
- Experience with skills, MCPs, custom harnesses for development and code review
- Hardly writing code by hand in over a year
