Principal Application Engineer

Job Summary
Support the product development life cycle from conception to production release by interfacing with Design Engineering, Test Engineering, and Quality Assurance teams. Achieve a thorough understanding of application environment requirements while continuously expanding knowledge of Renesas Memory Interface offerings. Work with customers to solve problems and develop solutions that maximize product performance. Write application notes and documentation for external customers and internal users. Design and debug hardware and software for lab validation and qualification, participate in new product specification development, and utilize lab equipment including oscilloscopes and pattern generators.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of direct experience in post-Silicon applications, debug, and validation
- Strong knowledge of DDR3/DDR4/DDR5 and/or SERDES protocols, testing and application
- Familiar with computer system architecture, especially for Intel x86 server system
- Skilled in the use of lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, pattern generators, ATE, Logic Analyzers
- Skilled in test automation development using Python
- Experience in high-speed test board design, analysis, and debug
- Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related, with 10+ years of relevant experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related, with 15+ years of relevant experience
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with DIMM RCD, Data Buffer and I2C and I3C devices is a plus
- Good writing skills desired
