Job Summary
Principal Application Engineer – Ethernet Products in Shanghai, China. Responsible for customer application support activities and system solutions for Automotive Ethernet switch and Ethernet PHY, especially on the software side, including customer programs and on-site support. Requires profound software competence to customize ethernet device configurations and firmware; experience with developing customer-facing documentation (application notes, white papers, FAQs, product training); lead development of reference designs and demonstrators in cooperation with internal and external teams; conduct trainings/workshops with automotive manufacturers and their suppliers in China; contribute to local team leadership through customer POC and design-in projects, conferences, and articles. Qualifications include 7-10 years of hardware and embedded software development for automotive semiconductors, strong C/C++, Linux, RTOS, Python skills, knowledge of TSN and Ethernet technologies, and a Master or PhD degree in Electronics, Communications, Computer Science, or similar; excellent cross-cultural communication and English fluency.
Required Qualifications
- 7-10 years of hardware and embedded software development using automotive semiconductors & electronics
- Deep knowledge of microcontrollers, preferably S32
- Hands-on experience with embedded microcontrollers
- Profound software knowledge and working with microcontrollers, C/C++, Low Level Drivers, Real Time Operating System, Linux, Python
- Knowledge of Ethernet network implementations, Ethernet switches and physical layer products
- First experience in implementing time synchronization and other TSN protocols in an Ethernet network
- Experience with new high bandwidth communication technology, use case and hardware/software system setup (e.g., Ethernet-based optical fiber solution, PON, SDN, PCIe)
- Knowledge of the automotive market and applications
- Experience in dealing with customers
- Master degree in Electronics, Communications, Computer Science, or similar
- Excellent communication skills and collaborative attitude
- Fluent in English
