Principal (and teaching duties as assigned) Velarde Elementary

Elementary Principal at Velarde Elementary to provide instructional leadership, supervise staff, and ensure compliance with district policies and state/federal regulations. Responsibilities include implementing board policies and state standards, developing and overseeing a School Improvement Plan, conducting curriculum audits and assessments, analyzing data to drive interventions, maintaining EPSS, and fostering effective communication and a safe, healthy learning environment for students and staff. The role involves budget management, curriculum development (including bilingual initiatives), coordination with parent and community groups, grant activities, health and technology integration, and ensuring accurate records and reporting in line with FERPA and related regulations; position reports to the Associate Superintendent or designee and requires licensure and expeditious collaboration with various district offices.
