Job Summary
Renesas Electronics seeks a Principal Analog Design Engineer to architect, design, and verify CMOS analog blocks for custom ASICs, focusing on Rx/Tx/PLL, DDR I/O interfaces, and high-precision analog circuits. Lead design, simulation, and validation of analog circuits (including DDR I/O, CTLE, VGA, DFE, and Slicer) and collaborate with digital and systems teams to ensure seamless integration. Provide technical leadership and mentorship, drive design verification and documentation, ensure reliability against EM/IR/Aging, and contribute to layout and methodology improvements. Stay current with industry trends and propose innovations to improve performance and power, with emphasis on low-power circuit design and robust signal integrity.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Electronics/Microelectronics Engineering or related discipline
- 10-15 years of analog circuit design experience – emphasis on Rx designs
- Expertise in high-speed DDR I/O interface design and optimization
- In-depth knowledge of analog Rx design, including CTLE, VGA, DFE, and Slicer focusing on performance metrics such as sensitivity, linearity, noise, and power consumption
- Proficiency with analog design tools (e.g., Cadence Virtuoso, Maestro, Spectre, HSPICE) and simulation techniques
- Strong understanding of signal integrity
- Strong understanding of general analog design principles and methodologies
