Job Summary
Principal Analog Design Engineer responsible for architecting, designing, simulating, and validating CMOS analog blocks for custom ASICs to meet stringent performance, area, power, and timeline constraints. Lead development of analog blocks including Rx/Tx, PLL, DDR I/O interfaces, CTLE, VGA, DFE, and high-speed mixed-signal circuits. Collaborate with digital, systems, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of analog and digital components. Provide technical leadership and mentorship, drive design methodologies and best practices, and perform comprehensive design verification through simulations and testing. Create detailed design documentation (specifications, schematics, reports) and ensure compliance with internal/external standards. Stay abreast of industry trends, propose innovative low-power solutions, and address reliability criteria (EM/IR/Aging). Proficiency with Cadence Virtuoso, Maestro, Spectre, and HSPICE; strong emphasis on signal integrity, noise immunity, and high-quality layout and matching for analog performance.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Electronics/Microelectronics Engineering or related discipline
- 10-15 years of analog circuit design experience – emphasis on Rx designs
- Expertise in high-speed DDR I/O interface design and optimization
- In-depth knowledge of analog Rx design, including CTLE, VGA, DFE, and Slicer focusing on performance metrics such as sensitivity, linearity, noise, and power consumption
- Proficiency with analog design tools (e.g., Cadence Virtuoso, Maestro, Spectre, HSPICE) and simulation techniques
- Strong understanding of signal integrity
- Strong understanding of general analog design principles and methodologies
